QU Women's Outdoor Track & Field Names 16 to MAAC All-Academic Team

WEST LONG BRANCH, New Jersey – A total of 16 members of the Quinnipiac University women's outdoor track and field team were named to the 2015 MAAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field All-Academic Team, announced on Sunday, May 3, 2015 by the league office.

The 16 Bobcats to make the list included: Niamh Ashe (East Islip, New York), Tracy Campbell (Wall Township, New Jersey), Ashley Carle (Jackson, New Jersey), Alyson Caron (Andover, New Jersey), Tara-Rose Cassidy (Somerville, New Jersey), Cameron Chaplen (Thomaston, Connecticut), Christina Faust (Macungie, Pennsylvania), Emma Johnson (Metuchen, New Jersey), Jennifer Mears (Vernon, Connecticut), Rebecca Morse (West Newbury, Massachusetts), Medinah Nabadduka (Windsor, Connecticut), Katy Petrie (Cranston, Rhode Island), Cori Reid (Old Saybrook, Connecticut), Chelsea Savage (Pembroke, Massachusetts), Jessica Soja (Simsbury, Connecticut) and Kristen Ulrich (Clark, New Jersey).

The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference released a total of 115 student-athletes that made up the 2014-2015 Women's Outdoor Track & Field All-Academic Team. To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must finish at least two semesters at their institution and must hold at least a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.

Marist College led all schools with 28 members named to the team. Monmouth University followed with 26 student-athletes, while Quinnipiac University had 16 student-athletes. Next was Rider University with 13 representatives, while Manhattan College and Niagara University had eight members each, Iona College had seven members, Canisius College had five, followed by Saint Peter's University with four members.

Quinnipiac Univeristy placed 2nd at the 2015 MAAC Outdoor Championships which is good enough for a new program record for the team finish at a conference championship meet.
