DANBURY, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's tennis senior Jacqueline Raynor (Garden City, New York) has been named the Corvias ECAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the fifth time this season and third consecutive week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Raynor was previously named the ECAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week on March 18, April 1, April 15 and April 22. Not only has Raynor been honored by the ECAC this season, but she won four MAAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week Awards on March 18, April 1, April 15 and April 22.
This past week, Raynor led the Bobcats to their second straight MAAC Championship as she was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Performer for the second straight season. Raynor won all three matches that she finished, including a pair of key doubles victories with partner Michelle Dassa (Marlboro, New Jersey) to help clinch the doubles point in both the semifinals and the finals.
Raynor's three victories puts her record to 48-13 this season, extending her single-season wins record of 48 and single-season doubles wins record of 29. With her two doubles victories, Raynor has now won 100 doubles matches in her career, extending that program record as well as he career wins record to 169.
Raynor and Dassa have also won 83 matches in their career, the Quinnipiac women's tennis record for wins by a doubles team.
The Bobcats advanced to their eighth NCAA Tournament appearance in program history with their 4-0 sweep of Niagara in the MAAC Championship. The Bobcats will face the No. 2 seed North Carolina Tar Heels on Saturday, May 9 at 12 P.M. at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
