EDISON, New Jersey – Quinnipiac women's tennis senior Jacqueline Raynor (Garden City, New York) has been named MAAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week and the Corvias ECAC Women's Tennis Co-Player of the Week for the fourth time this season, as announced by the respective league offices on Wednesday.
This is the first time Raynor this season Raynor was named the MAAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week and ECAC Co-Player of the Week for back-to-back weeks. She was previously named MAAC Player of the Week and ECAC Player of the Week on March 18, April 1, and April 15.
Raynor had a record-breaking week for the Bobcats, as she became the all-time wins leader in program history with her 166th career victory. Raynor broke the mark of 165, set by Stephanie Petrycki during her four-year career from 1998 to 2002. Not only did Raynor set the new career wins mark during the Bobcats match against Monmouth, she also set the single-season program record with her 45th win of the 2014-15 season. The single-season program record was formerly 44 wins, set by Stephanie Arahovites in 2002 then tied by Juliet Labarthe in 2011 and Raynor in 2014.
Raynor is now all-time wins leader, all-time doubles wins leader, single-season wins leader, and the single-season doubles wins leader in program history.
Last week, Raynor went a perfect 7-0, including 6-0 in conference matches against Marist, Saint Peter's and Monmouth. The perfect week extended her winning streak to 21 consecutive individual match victories, dating back to her last loss on March 17 against Iowa State. Raynor and doubles partner Michelle Dassa (Marlboro, New Jersey) went 3-0 to increase their win total together to 81 matches.
The Bobcats finished the regular season in the MAAC 8-0 for the second consecutive season since joining the league. Including last year's conference tournament, the Bobcats are 18-0 against MAAC opponents as a member of the league. Quinnipiac will open up the MAAC Tournament on Saturday, April 25 as the No. 1 Seed against No. 4 Seed Marist at 10 A.M. at the Mercer County Tennis Center in West Windsor, New Jersey.
