Quinnipiac Women’s Ice Hockey Announces 2015-16 Schedule

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's ice hockey head coach Cassandra Turner has announced the 2015-16 schedule, highlighted by 19 home games and matchups with five teams that have reached the NCAA Tournament in the past two seasons. The Bobcats are coming off their best record in program history and qualified for their first NCAA Tournament in program history with an at-large berth.

Three dates have been selected during the season for Quinnipiac's "Skate with the Bobcats," an opportunity for fans to skate on the ice at High Point Solutions Arena with members of the Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team following the completion of the game. This season, "Skate with the Bobcats" will take place on Saturday, Nov. 7; Saturday, Dec. 5; and Saturday, Feb. 13.

The Bobcats will play seven regular season games in October, beginning when they open up the season at High Point Solutions Arena on Friday, Oct. 2 with a 7 P.M. matchup against the Mercyhurst Lakers before a quick turnaround to face the Lakers on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 1 P.M. The following weekend, Quinnipiac travels to Maine for a pair of games before coming home for an exhibition game with Western University on Friday, Oct. 16 at 4 P.M. The Bobcats will play a non-conference game with Yale on Oct. 24.

Conference play opens up for the Bobcats on Friday, Oct. 30 when they travel to Brown to face the Bears at 7 P.M. and will then face Yale at Ingalls Rink in New Haven, Connecticut at 4 P.M. The next weekend the Bobcats host Colgate and Cornell on Nov. 6 and 7 before playing a home and home series with travel-partner Princeton on Nov. 13-14.

After a trip to Clarkson and St. Lawrence on Nov. 20-21, the Bobcats will compete in the 12th annual Nutmeg Classic at Ingalls Rink, where they will face UConn in the opening game. On Nov. 28, Quinnipiac will face either Yale or Merrimack in the final day of the tournament.

The final weekend of conference play in 2015 will wrap up in the first weekend of December when Quinnipiac hosts Dartmouth and Harvard on Dec. 4-5 followed by a non-conference matchup with New Hampshire on Dec. 11.

Quinnipiac will begin the 2016 calendar year with ECAC Hockey play against Yale and Brown on Jan. 1-2 before travelling to Rensselaer and Union on Jan. 8-9. The Bobcats will begin a three-game hiatus from conference play on Jan. 15-16 when they host Robert Morris before a mid-week matchup with Boston University on Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 11 A.M. This game marks the Bobcats only "School Day" game of the 2015-16 season where they will aim to bring several schools from the area to watch the game.

The final eight games of the season are all conference games for the Bobcats when they begin a four-game road trip with trips to Harvard and Dartmouth on Jan. 29-30 and Cornell and Colgate on Feb. 5-6. Quinnipiac closes the 2015-16 regular season with a four-game homestand, beginning with St. Lawrence and Clarkson on Feb. 12-13 followed by Union and Rensselaer on Feb. 19-20 in the regular season finale.
