HAMDEN, Conn. – Junior Jack Brust (Baltimore, Md.) was selected MAAC Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office on April 20, 2015. Brust helped Quinnipiac to a 9-8 win over Monmouth on Saturday, the Bobcats clinching the second seed in the MAAC Tournament with the victory.
Two of the MAAC's top goalies took the field in Hamden Saturday, both living up to the hype. Bobcat goalie Jack Brust came away with the win though, collecting his fourth career triumph in the game. He made 10 saves on the day and allowed just one goal in the second half of action. He made five saves in the third quarter and one in the fourth.
Brust has double digits in saves in eight of his 10 games this year – ranking among the national leaders in saves per game. He sports an 11.31 goal against average and a 52.3 save percentage this year.
The Quinnipiac men's lacrosse team clinched its spot in the upcoming MAAC Tournament, which is set to begin on Thursday, April 30, 2015. First though, the Bobcats return to the destination where it all began for the senior class four years ago – Air Force Academy in Colorado. Faceoff is set for Thursday, April 23 from Falcon Stadium at 1 p.m. MT/3 p.m. EST.
The MAAC Championship Semifinals are a week from Thursday. The opponent and time will not be known until Saturday, April 25.
