Quinnipiac men's basketball legend Frank Vieira visited the University's TD Bank Sports Center on Monday, Aug. 3. The Bobcats' all-time leading scorer is Quinnipiac's 2015 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Honor Roll selection.
Quinnipiac head coach Tom Moore introduced Vieira to this year's team, who were enthused to meet to meet the program's all-time leading scorer. Putting a face to the name on the banner, Moore introduced Vieira, a 1957 graduate of Quinnipiac when they were the Braves, noting that he scored "2,731 points...without a three-point line".
Vieira spoke with several players, and wished the team luck. Vieira's first visit to TD Bank Sports Center left one of the greatest scorers in NCAA basketball history in awe. Vieira will be honored by the conference as part of the annual MAAC Honor Roll on Oct. 17, 2015 at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
