Evan Conti and Justin Harris to Compete in the Gotham Hoops Invitational

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Two members of the 2014-15 men's basketball team – Evan Conti (Bayside, N.Y.) and Justin Harris (Paterson, N.J.) – have been selected to play in the Gotham Hoops Invitational, to be held Saturday, May 30, at Adelphi University. The annual event serves as a showcase for the top men's college basketball seniors in the Tri-State area.

Founded by Ray Anczelowicz, the Gotham Hoops' mission is to market available players to a network of professional agents, coaches, executives and scouts. The Gotham Hoops Invitational showcases premier talent from across the United States. Event alumni are current pros in 14 countries, representing leagues around the world.

Conti scored career highs in points, rebounds, assists and minutes per game in his final season at Quinnipiac. He averaged 9.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game – ranking among the team leaders in all three categories. Conti shined on several occasions throughout the 2014-15 season, none more so than Feb. 1 in the game at Niagara. He poured in 26 points on 9-of-16 shooting, draining five threes by games end. Conti went on to score 21 points two games later, averaging 20.0 points per outing through a three-game stretch.

Harris proved to be one of the most consistent pieces for the Bobcats all season long. He averaged 8.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game – ranking among the team leaders in all three categories. Defensively, Harris ranked among the MAAC leaders in blocks per game – highlighted by a career high of five against Siena on Feb. 27. On the other side of the ball, Harris flashed his potential against Fairfield on Feb. 13 – scoring a career high 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting in a game televised on ESPN3.

It's a full slate of activities for the two student-athletes, all the action beginning at 10 a.m. at the Center For Recreation and Sports on Adelphi's campus. Included in the schedule of events are a combine, a skill development, a showcase and an all-star game.
