GREENSBORO, North Carolina – Quinnipiac baseball first baseman Vincent Guglietti (East Haven, Connecticut) has been named to the 2015 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings Division I All-Northeast Second Team, as announced by the ABCA.
Guglietti is just the fourth Quinnipiac baseball player to be honored by the ABCA during the program's Division I era and is the first Bobcat to be honored with the ABCA/Rawlings All-Northeast Region selection. Tim Binkoski was named to the first team and Randy Gress was named to the second team in 2007 while Binkoski was also named to the ABCA/Rawlings Division I All-American Third Team in the same season. Prior to Binkoski and Gress, Bryan Sabatella was named to the second team in 2005.
This is the latest honor for Guglietti after a strong senior season in which he was named to the All-MAAC First Team, MAAC All-Tournament team and NEIBA All-New England Second Team.
As a senior, Guglietti hit 10 home runs which more than doubled his career home run total of eight through his first three seasons. Guglietti set career-highs as a senior in nearly every offensive category, including runs (43), hits (65), triples (3), home runs (10), RBIs (47), walks (27), stolen bases (4), on base percentage (.414) and slugging percentage (.589).
In his career, Guglietti compiled a .309 batting average with a .376 on base percentage and .464 slugging percentage. He smashed 18 home runs, 49 doubles, 228 hits, 116 runs scored, 132 RBIs and 76 walks in his career. Guglietti is the all-time doubles leader in Quinnipiac baseball history, fourth in program history in hits, 15th in program history and 11th in the Division I era in runs scored, 14th in program history and 10th in the Division I era in home runs, and fifth in program history and second in the Division I era in RBIs.
