QU Baseball Featured in Several News Publications

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac baseball team was featured in both the New Haven Register and New England Baseball News this week, highlighting their impressive season so far with a 24-21 record.

In the Monday issue of the New Haven Register, senior first baseman Vincent Guglietti (East Haven, Connecticut) was featured by Bill Cloutier in an article titled "Vince Guglietti focused on final games at Quinnipiac, not pro draft." It focused on his growth from freshman year to senior year.

The article also touches upon his growth during his two seasons with the Plymouth Pilgrims of the New England Collegiate Baseball League, a summer college baseball team. Guglietti and head coach John Delaney were both interviewed for the article.

The Bobcats were also featured on the New England Baseball News website, nebn.com, by Paul Bonfiglio in an article titled "Quinnipiac baseball back in the mix."

This article focuses on the Bobcats impressive season and what has made the Bobcats so successful as a team. Delaney and Guglietti were both interviewed for the article as well.

Guglietti is batting .327 on the season and leads Quinnipiac in nearly every offensive category, including batting average, on base percentage (.410), slugging percentage (.580), runs (36), triples (2), home runs (8), RBIs (35), walks (20), and has the fewest strikeouts of batters getting at least 100 at bats (19).

The Bobcats will return to action on Saturday, May 9 when they travel to Lawrenceville, New Jersey to face the Rider Broncs in a matchup of the top two teams in the MAAC. Saturdays' doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 12 P.M. followed by a single game on Sunday, May 10 at 12 P.M.
